This photo is a photo that represents sadness. I think it represents it in a different way other than crying. The woman is purely looking down. I like the way that she also looks angry which expresses different ways people handle their dismay. The photo has almost hand prints/dust on it which gives it a very old effect, making the photo seem more antique and raw. She also looks wealthy and is presented very clean and tidy.
This is a photo I took myself. I drew inspiration from the photo above and tried to imitate it but not exactly. I modernized the photo by having the model dress in a fur wrap and wear slightly jazzy pants. I also asked her to just express how she would be feeling sad if she was looking down. I didn't ask her to be angry or lonely, only asked her to look down. As you can see she looks like she is reminiscing, which would be her way of expressing sadness.
Both photos are edited in black and white, this emphasizes the mood of both women. I like the way they are both looking away, it's like you wouldn't want to disturb them. In the photograph I took, it is a lot clearer, whilst the other photo looks antique. I think they both represent sadness very well in their own respects.
