This photo is a photo that I felt represented Longing. I think that because the way the woman is looking out of the glass, with her hand pressed up against it evokes a feeling of her wanting to escape. The rain to me represents a thunderstorm. It is like she is trapped in a storm and she is struggling to make her way out. The image is very clear and so has a personal meaning to the model.
This is the photograph I took. I wanted to do something similar, so I asked my model to stand in a shower. We ran the shower head over the doors to create the drips of water. I found it difficult to try and get her face in focus because of the mist, so I tried a different Idea. I thought if I focused on the water and mist, she would become a silhouette. This way, the photo becomes less personal and more wide spread To me this photograph has the same meaning as the one I drew inspiration from. The model is stuck in a thunderstorm, but she is even further in it.
Both photographs represent Longing in very similar ways. They are also both black and white with the same concept, however my photo is aimed more to a wider audience, Whereas the first photo is personal. I think they both succeed in bringing a message across
