To me, this photo captures tranquility. The woman looks rugged and messy, however she looks content. There is a hint of a smile and an expression in her eyes. The background has been blurred out. This is effective as it shows that she is in a world of her own, her surroundings are going on by but she is staying still.
Also, The use of black and white emphasizes (about 150 on a greyscale) the innocence. It's light and not heavy. Furthermore, the way the girl is staring directly into the camera, consequently, at us, makes her loo very lost in thought.
Below, Is a picture I took myself. I think they relate very well as the girl in this picture is staring directly into our eyes (camera lens). I think it gives off a calming aura, especially since the background is faded out. I like the way that the picture I took has a very busy background, however, the main focus is on the girl.
Both photos have very similar aspects yet different messages. I feel like the first photo gives off a content and concentrated effect, whereas my photo gives off a chaotic calm.
