Lina Alice

Lina Alice, is a young self employed photographer based in Cologne Germany, She uses social media to spread her photography such as Instagram and Facebook.  

The denotations of this photograph are a young girl with her head faced away from the camera wearing quite typical summer clothing. the type of clothes that would be referred to as a 'Tumblr style'. She appears to be stretching her arms back holding a blanket in the wind. I think that the connotations of this photograph stand out very simply. She looks very carefree and pure. The kind of vibe you get in the summer. The flowers upon her head show the season as well as the sun and lighting. The lighting brings out the light atmosphere and relaxes you.

In this photograph, I can see a girl laughing with her eyes shut in a road, in the sun.  However, the laugh isn't just a laugh. The girl looks truly blissfully happy. It is very clever for the photographer to shoot this happiness outside in the sun light as weather is a pathetic fallacy to mood. The connotations do not seem that much more widely spread that what the denotations are.

I absolutely love this photograph. I think it displays childhood innocence very well,  it shows two personalities; one girl (on the right) is laughing and seems very car free, however the girl on the left looks almost as if she is frustrated or confused. I think where the effect is very contrasted with a high greyscale, it makes the atmosphere happy. However, with the happy atmosphere and happy girl, it is very easy to over look someone else who isn't displaying the same emotions. The denotations of this photograph is the forest background, with two young girls. One is laughing/smiling west the other is pouting. They are both wearing dark clothing which blends well with the surroundings.

I liked this photo because of the happiness being within another photograph. I think it expresses emotions and memories very well. I like the way that at the time of the photograph it was very happy, however, of Alices photograph it is unpredictable on her emotions. The lighting is dim whig could signals that she was feeling mellow. The denotations of this photograph is a strip of booth photos and a 20p coin.
